Visola "longings after waterfalls"
In most west African cultures, water is seen as a powerful symbol of renewal and rejuvenation. When traditional purification rituals were performed it involved being washed or submerged in natural flowing waters such as rivers and waterfalls, as a way of symbolically washing away the past with all its impurities and negative energy. After the cleanse begins healing and spiritual growth. We see symbols of that on this print through the color pallet as well as the blue water drops symbolizing cleansing. These prints were to be worn for 7 days after a cleansing.
